The Kiryas Joel pipeline has once again come into the public eye. Only this time the story in the TH-R of May 27 clearly states it will be the state financing the pipeline. Now it is up to $30M.
The paper states KJ has said it has been approved to be constructed, only NYC DEP and other sources have said they haven't approved it yet. Once again, KJ is trying to work outside the system. Isn't it about time the taxpayers of New York state contact their representatives and let them know we don't want our tax money going to nontax paying entities?
In the current fiscal situation, it's certainly not the time nor should it ever be the time to dish out $30M-plus to serve a private religious group when we have people who can't put food on the table. It's time for New Yorkers to speak up and put this to an abrupt halt. Vote the bums out.
